Complementary Materials Dainsta

Steel and aluminium form the foundation as primary structural materials in mechanical part manufacturing, but additional materials are often introduced to augment product performance. For instance, in aerospace applications where components face severe environmental challenges, materials like titanium offer invaluable advantages. These complementary materials provide unique properties that enhance functionality, filling gaps that steel or aluminium cannot adequately address. Moreover, specific grades of additional materials are tailored to meet specific industry requirements. Some of these are:

Brass

We use specific grades of brass for their excellent corrosion resistance, machinability, and aesthetic appeal in custom parts. Dainsta deals in the following grades of Brass:

Brass Cz121 is a free-machining brass alloy with high machinability. It offers corrosion resistance and moderate strength to the mechanical parts. It is Ideal for parts that require low friction.

Brass C360, or Free Cutting Brass, is renowned for its excellent chip formation. It has high tensile strength and natural corrosion resistance.

Copper

Chosen for its high electrical and thermal conductivity, making it ideal for custom electrical and thermal applications. Here are some copper grades we deal in:

Copper C110, also known as electrolytic tough pitch (ETP) copper, is a commercially pure copper alloy with high electrical and thermal conductivity. It exhibits excellent ductility, malleability, and corrosion resistance.

Copper C101 is a high-purity copper alloy (99%) with minimal oxygen content. It has exceptional electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity.

Titanium

Valued for its high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, making it suitable for aerospace and medical custom parts. We deal in the following grades of Titanium:

Titanium Grade 1 is pure titanium, the most ductile and softest grade. It has a low density, high strength-to-weight ratio, and good weldability. This grade can easily withstand highly oxidizing conditions.

Titanium Grade 2 comes with moderate strength and has moderate oxygen content. It offers better weldability, excellent corrosion resistance, and is more formable.

Titanium Grade 5 (CNC) is a commercially pure metal known for its outstanding corrosion and impact resistance and favourable machinability and weldability properties.

Ceramics

We prefer ceramics for their high-temperature stability, hardness, and electrical insulation properties in custom parts. We deal in grades such as:

Alumina grade offers exceptional hardness and thermal stability, making them ideal for applications involving high-speed machining, abrasive wear, and extreme operating conditions.

Zirconia ceramics feature toughness and resistance to thermal shock, which is why they are suitable for applications requiring high mechanical loads and dynamic stress.

Silicon Carbide is a grade of ceramics that is chemically inert and tough. It is ideally used in manufacturing abrasive tools and wear-resistant components.

Inconel

We select Inconel for its strength retention and resistance to oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures, essential for custom parts in extreme environments. Here are some of Inconel grades we deal in:

Inconel 718 is a nickel-based superalloy known for its exceptional strength and high-temperature resistance. It has high strength and oxidation resistance even in harsh environments.

Stavax

Stavax grades typically offer excellent corrosion resistance. Plus, they have good polishability. Therefore, they are used in the manufacturing of injection moulds for plastics.

Garolite

Garolite’s grades have excellent mechanical properties, including high strength stiffness. These can be used to make strong mechanical components and fixtures.

Invar

Invar typically contains around 36% nickel and 64% iron, with small amounts of other elements. Its low thermal expansion coefficient makes it highly dimensionally stable in high temperatures.
